Sally Bacchetta is an award-winning writer and sales training consultant with more than a decade of experience in medical writing, magazine journalism, and corporate communications. She draws on her educational and professional background in psychology and counseling to illuminate the private thoughts of adoptive parents with sensitivity and startling honesty.
Sally recently published her first adoption book, What I Want My Adopted Child to Know: An Adoptive Parent's Perspective. The book is described as “a tender, revealing look at adoption from the parent perspective.” Whether an adoptive parent, an adoptee, someone considering adoption, or simply curious about adoption dynamics, What I Want My Adopted Child to Know: An Adoptive Parent’s Perspective will touch hearts and increase readers' sensitivity to the challenges and joys that are unique to adoptive parenting.
Sally is a contributing author to Retail Crime, Security, and Loss Prevention – An Encyclopedic Reference (Elsevier, 2008), and Becoming a Healthcare Professional (LearningExpress, LLC, 2010). She is currently ghost writing a business management book and editing a medical book about drug development and clinical trials.
Sally is the Rochester Adoptive Families Examiner and her articles have appeared in national and local publications, including Computer Link, Country Business, Genesee Valley Parent, Home & Yard Handbook, Kids VT, Pharmaceutical Executive, Pharmaceutical Representative, Phenomena, Rochester Democrat & Chronicle, Selling Power, SPBT Focus and Yahoo!.
She also blogs about adoption and parenting at www.theadoptiveparent.blogspot.com. She networks extensively with other adoptive families, and is currently working on a follow-up book about adoption.
Sally is a native of Florida who now lives in upstate New York with her husband, children, and a growing collection of children’s books. She is a skilled musician who plays flute and piano in a variety of settings, her favorite being next to her daughter and son at the keyboard. She also shares a love of the outdoors with her family.
