About Sally Bacchetta

Sally Bacchetta is an adoptive parent and author of What I Want My Adopted Child to Know: An Adoptive Parent's Perspective.

She draws on her educational and professional background in psychology and counseling to illuminate the private thoughts of adoptive parents with sensitivity and startling honesty.

Sally previously served as the Rochester Adoptive Families Examiner and her articles have appeared in national and local publications, including Genesee Valley Parent magazine. She frequently blogs about adoption and parenting on her website. She is also a freelance writer and manager of experimental learning who leads a team of content developers and instructional designers.

Sally networks extensively with other adoptive families, and is currently working on a follow-up book about adoption.

Sally is a native of Florida who now lives in upstate New York with her husband, children, and a growing collection of children’s books. She is a skilled musician who plays flute and piano in a variety of settings, her favorite being next to her daughter and son at the keyboard. She also shares a love of the outdoors with her family.
